Post Camino

Santiago de Compostela
9 - 11 June 2019

It was lovely to return to Santiago for two nights after spending time at Fisterra and Muxia, to once again just quietly wander around the city, to watch pilgrims arrive and to visit St James in the Cathedral one last time, and also to reflect on all we had experienced and what our Camino means to us. Our Camino was a physical walk and was quite challenging, but we managed it and managed it well - plus it was so much fun. It was also a very spiritual journey and we hold that deep within us. While walking our Camino we found so much. We found beauty, peace, simplicity, equality, caring and friendship. Many times we were completely filled with joy and on our return to Santiago de Compostela we were finally able to express that joy.

A carving on the Cathedral has the alpha and the omega in reverse - perhaps a message to pilgrims that our Camino never really ends, that the end is just the beginning.

The end is the beginning...
