Post Camino

Santiago

Weatherwise today was a mix of rain and sun. Our day was a mix too - part pilgrim and part tourist. Domestic duties came first though with getting our washing done at the beautiful Lavanderia which is across the road - the laundromat has a lounge area and also a gorgeous garden courtyard to sit out in if wanted.
Our pilgrim part of our day started with an English Mass in a small chapel in the Pilgrim Office followed by a cup of tea/coffee upstairs where many of us gathered and chatted. From there several of us went back to the Church of San Francisco to receive a Franciscan pilgrim blessing certificate. It was a lovely morning. In the afternoon we were tourists and we explored the modern shopping area and ended the afternoon with a 'train' ride around the old city. It has been a another special day.

Three views from our apartment:
Looking away from the Cathedral. This is the path out for the Finisterre Camino.
Looking up the street towards the Cathedral which is up the steps at the top of this street, the Pilgrim Office is to the left.
Out the back of our apartment.

The Lavanderia across  the road from our apartment and a few snaps of quotes on the courtyard wall:

Our 'train' in front of the Cathedral and a few snaps taken during our ride:

Walking back to our apartment from Prada Obradoiro - looking down to the top of our street.

A Camino sign in our street.

A quick walk up the street after dinner:

 Two sides of Santiago life.

Pappy's house is opposite our apartment. It is rather spooky but Pappy should be happy as it's in a great part of the city.

  1. Another full day. I collected some shells when we walked the beach just over a week ago. I made sure one looked like St James symbol. Yesterday I placed them on the heat pump on the front porch. This afternoon a magpie or two scattered them all over the porch - cheeky visitors. 🦉
